Teamwork

I told my kids I'd pay them a penny for every tentworm they found and destroyed. Didn't realize the value of a penny, apparently! All three kids, plus two neighbor kids, went to great lengths to get the tents out of the trees! It was great to see them working together (instead of all arguing for a change...).

Last beach excursion...

...before school started. At the last minute, John and I took the kids to the beach at Grand Haven. The weather was perfect.

Under the Stars

To celebrate the end of summer vacation, we did a variety of activities with the kids. One of them was John and the kids slept around the campfire wit; no tent--just the stars overhead. I expected to find somebody on the couch in the morning, but all three kids stayed out and slept! They were a bit damp in the morning, but they didn't mind.
